I realized that my original post might not have been placed in the most appropriate forum. So i have moved it here :)Original post >First of all, hi to everyone here in BMW club malaysia. As the topic states i just bought myself a 318Ci Jap spec yesterday, put down 1K deposit. However, i would like to know a few things. Thanks to all who can help a young one here who doesnt know much (as yet) 1) Who can i go to that can provide me a full inspection of my car including all neccessary diagnostic, mechanical and body checks? Is M Speed Auto Service at Taman Ind. Subang, Subang Jaya a good place to go? i have been reading up in the forums, its seems quite a few of you guys do frequent this place. I also called up 'Meng' who told me to bring my Ci to his place tomorrow morning. Any recommendations/opinions on their quality and service is highly appreciated. I want to find someone who will take care of my beemer for a long time, dont want to run about here and there too much. i live in subang as well.2) I have been hearing about this company called Autodetailer Sdn Bhd - Darren a lot in the car care thread... i was wondering if someone could give me directions on how to contact this person to arrange a date so i can get my car off to a good start in terms of external car bodycare. 3) Im not too sure, but if im not wrong, my car has got that standard cassette player but there is no cd changer to be found. I checked the boot but couldnt find anything. If lets say i really am unable to find the cd changer, and there isnt one, how do i get a replacement? The dealer also told me that it isnt very easy to install a different headunit into the existing console in the middle, is this true? If so, am i stuck to listening from the standard headunit with no cd changer? If it isnt true, and i am actually able to change the headunit/audio system, who would you recommend? Details would be really helpful. 4) I find the standard wheels on my Ci rather unappealing to the eye. What is a reasonable size to go for considering that the 318 isnt really a powerhouse to begin with. 17"? 18"? Do advise.5) How much can i get those clear blinkers, side indicators and LED rear lamps for? I sure hope it doesnt cost me a ton.. but if it does, what can you do? Please advise where to get these and contacts would be great as usual. so far, my only indications of pricing on these are from eurocarmotorsport.com and their prices certainly seem a bit exorbitant (at least for my poor self)I'm sure i have many more questions for you sifus out there.. but i'll start off with 5 for now Many many thanks in advance. Cheerios~!-Alan-p.s. if there are some details that you cannot reveal in the forum, im jsut as happy if you pm me tQ

Just an update.. my car is already on the way from the dealership to MSpeed for a full checkup. Hopefully they will do a good job of inspecting the beemer. Also, thanks to all those who gave me directions and even a map to Autodetailer. Much appreciated.

Congrats man, and welcome! Don't know much about the workshops there as I'm in KL, but I've pm u the contact of someone who can help u with the blinkers, etc...

CD changer no issue, most auto ICE shops should be able to fit one in, no problemo. Mine's Jap spec as well and am using a sony CD changer, tuned in to the radio freq. U'll need to fit a freq modulator as well to receive most of the stations here - it's about RM170 in Kuching, so should be slightly cheaper there.

Enjoy your UDM, man!

Thanks. I havent received your pm as yet. And my inbox shouldnt be full only 8%. Or maybe it takes some time to reach me lol. One of my worries is that if i want to change the headunit, they mgiht have to custom make/cut my dashboard to fit it in. Because to me, the center console of my beemer seems like it can only fit that original cassette headunit. Thats the only reason why i was thinking of just getting a cd changer and connect it with the stock HU. Which ICE shop is fairly good? Can anyone recommend? Cheers.

seems like the coupe group is getting bigger n bigger...i think we can have a coupe mini tt gathering very soon!!

Saw quite a number when I was in S'pore last week. Particularly liked a white one with sunroof! Yummy, and was driven by a PYT too! YUMMIER! :beaten:

hey dude..where do u stay?maybe we can go out yumcha...n i will answer most of ur question technically...but not on the audio side..cos i am not into that!!drop me a pm if u wanna meet!!

Received good news.. car is accident free and motor all aye ok. Must change oil and filter and some other little stuff. Btw i have been told that my beemer comes with four keys? can anyone verify this? 1 is supposedly the main key, the second is a spare key, the third is like a gearbox key and the fourth i cant remember. They also say very important must get a letter from the dealer stating that they have paid the taxes and also i should get photocopies of all the ap and permits and what not when i take this car... i scared if i dont get all the keys ppl can come and just drive my car away leh..

marco > you have pm

I only got 2 keys when I got mine, but not Ci la. Oil, filters, etc dealer change - full service before they deliver over here, donno abt in KL.

Hi alalio, seen your car at Mspeed. Nice one bro.

As for the keys, there should be 4 keys (can any other sifus correct me if I am wrong)... one main, one spare, one limited use for opening doors/glove box/boot but cannot start the car and one is a plastic one to be kept in the wallet. The very important keys are the 1st and 2nd ones. 3rd and 4th are good to have but if don't have, not too much of a problem.

Do join our yumcha/tt sessions.

Thanks and nice to meet you. I just called the dealer.. he told me the car only comes with one key! I told him that if i lose the key then how? Some people have said that the key can cost like RM1,000 from AB.. which is really crazy. He said he'll check and see if got more keys... haihzz. Anyway putting that aside, i sure dont mind seeing some of the member's beemers at any yumcha. cheerios~

key1 is the main key. Key2 is spare. key3 is valet key. the valet key is for parking attendance to use. It can start the car but cannot open the glove compartment not the boot when the main key is used to lock the car. key4-plastic key is for opening the door only if you accidentally lock your main key in the car (which never happen)

alalio, welcome to the club and congrats on ur udm!
